AC service charges in Karachi: service, gas and fitting
Before summer, “AC service charges Karachi” is one of the most searched jobs — and the price depends on which job you actually need. A general service, a gas refill, and a fit/removal are three different charges. Here is how they break down.
The three jobs, and what drives each
- General service / cleaning. The routine before-summer clean (filters, coils, drainage). Priced per unit; a split costs a little more than a window unit.
- Gas refill. Charged by the gas type and amount; an older unit that keeps losing gas may have a leak that needs fixing first — ask.
- Installation / removal. Fitting a new split, or removing and refitting when you move, is a separate job and depends on piping and the wall.
- Repairs. A faulty capacitor, PCB or compressor is quoted after the technician inspects.
Questions that stop surprise bills
- Is this a service, a gas refill, or a repair — and what does each cost?
- If it needs gas, how much, and is a leak check included?
- Is there a visit/inspection charge if I don’t proceed?
- Is there any warranty on the work?
Rates vary by technician and unit — agree the charge before the work starts.
Frequently asked questions
How much does AC service cost in Karachi?
It depends on the job — a general service, a gas refill and an installation are priced differently, and a split usually costs a little more than a window unit. The technician quotes before starting.
Why does my AC need gas every year?
Repeated gas loss usually means a leak. Ask the technician to check for and fix the leak rather than only refilling gas each season.
