Privacy Policy

Qamru is built around one idea: your data is yours. We aim to hold as little of your information as possible, we do not sell it, and your private conversations are end‑to‑end encrypted so that only you and the people you talk to can read them. This policy explains what we handle and why.

This app and service are provided by Qamru Technologies LLC ("Qamru", "we", "us"). If you have questions, contact support@qamru.com.

Information we handle

• Account information. Your email address and display name, so you can sign in and so your contacts can recognize you.
• Content you create. Marketplace requests and vendor listings, and any documents you choose to share in a Trade Room.
• Messages. Your chats are end‑to‑end encrypted. They are encrypted on your device, and our servers only relay unreadable ciphertext to deliver them — we cannot read your messages. Your private keys never leave your device.
• Calls. Voice and video calls connect directly between devices (WebRTC). We help set up the connection but do not record or store call content.
• Technical identifiers. A user ID and device ID used to route your calls and messages, and a push token (from Apple or Google) so your device can ring for an incoming call or receive a message notification.
• Location. Only if you use a feature that needs it (for example, showing nearby places in Qamru AI) and only while you are using the app. We use it to provide that feature; we do not sell it.

How we use information

We use the information above solely to provide and operate Qamru — to sign you in, connect your calls and messages, run the marketplace, and keep the service secure. We do not use your information for advertising.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal, financial, or location data — to anyone, ever.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not read your end‑to‑end‑encrypted messages.
• We do not store your card or bank credentials. Marketplace payments are processed by licensed payment partners (Safepay in Pakistan, Stripe internationally) and held securely until delivery is confirmed — you enter payment details directly with the partner, never with Qamru. Vendors' payout details are stored encrypted.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run the app — for example, cloud hosting for the account and marketplace service, licensed payment processors (Safepay, Stripe) to process marketplace payments, and Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging to wake your device for an incoming call or message. These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service. We do not sell data to anyone, and we may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

Encrypted messages are relayed to deliver them and are not kept as readable history on our servers; undelivered encrypted envelopes expire automatically. We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see below).

Your choices and rights

• Access or delete. Email support@qamru.com from your account email to request access to, or deletion of, your account and data.
• Lock the app. You can require Face ID / device biometrics to open Qamru; this is handled on your device.
• Permissions. You control microphone, camera, notification, and location permissions in your device settings.

Security

Chats are end‑to‑end encrypted, private keys stay on your device, and data in transit is encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we design Qamru to hold the least data possible so there is little to expose.

Browser-based access

Some marketplace content — like a shared request — can be viewed through a web browser without installing the Qamru app. When you use Qamru this way, the security and privacy of that experience also depend on the browser and device you use, which we do not control and are not responsible for. We recommend keeping your browser and device up to date. Using Qamru through a browser, rather than the Qamru app, is at your own risk with respect to those third‑party protections.

Children

Qamru is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

International

We operate the service using providers that may process data in the United States and other countries. By using Qamru you understand your information may be processed in those locations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide notice in the app or on this page.
