Signboards and banners in Karachi: what actually drives the price
Signage is quoted by area, material and installation — and the third one is where quotes quietly diverge. Specify all three and the numbers you get back become comparable.
What to specify when you ask for a rate
Vendors quote what they are asked. Give them all of this and the quotes you get back will be comparable to each other — which is the whole point.
- Exact size. In feet, width × height. Signage is priced per square foot, so an approximate size gives you an approximate quote.
- Material. Flex vinyl for temporary banners; acrylic for a fixed board; ACP for a shopfront; stainless or channel letters for backlit. Each is a different price bracket, not a preference.
- Indoor or outdoor. Outdoor needs UV-stable print and weatherproof mounting. Say where it will hang.
- Lighting. Non-lit, backlit, or LED channel letters. Lighting changes both the fabrication and the electrical work.
- Mounting. Eyelets, wall mount, pole mount, hanging frame — and who installs it. Installation is frequently excluded from the first quote.
- Artwork. Supplying print-ready vector artwork, or do you need it designed? Ask for the file format they want.
- Quantity. One board or several identical ones. Repeats drop the per-unit price sharply.
Questions worth asking before you agree
- Is installation included, and does that include electrical work?
- What is the warranty on the print and on the fabrication?
- How long does it last outdoors in Karachi sun?
- Do you handle any permissions needed for a shopfront sign?
- Is the price per square foot or for the whole job?

What a fair price depends on
